Unable to read H264 level 40 or 41 !

Hi

I'm running current released version of Emby server 4.8.11.0 on Debian. It runs since 2 years without any problems excepted that one. If I try to read some HD medias in H264 with a profile High and level 40 or 41 Emby is unable to read it ! With level 40 media doesn't even start. In level 41 it blinks few times and then fails. Someone else has same issue ? How to fix it ?

I attach the log file of ffmpeg logs when it tries to read it if someone can understand something from it ?

Thanks

Vincèn

Hi, if you try playing in Chrome, how does that compare?

By the way, the firefox video player also had trouble with this file. It started with direct play and then the Emby web app switched to server transcoding after the firefox video player threw an error.

Hi

I don't have Chrome but in Chromium same behaviour than FF.

In transcoding it should work no ? Extra info: If I start that media on an other player then resumes in FF no problem it'll continue to read the file !

Thanks

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Did you know that Chromium embeds it's own version of ffmpeg for use with the video player. It's just a very light version with limited format support. I'm guessing Firefox does the same.

So usually transcoding will resolve these kinds of things, but sometimes the server's ffmpeg build can end up having the same trouble as the client's.

If you run it through the server's convert media feature, is it able to convert it?
