jmoor98904 2 Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 (edited) Hi everyone, I’m not sure if this has been asked before, but I have a question about my Emby Server setup. By default, Emby installs on my C : drive, which is also my Windows boot drive. However, all my media is stored on my D : drive, which is an SSD as well. The issue is that I’ve had to wipe and reinstall Windows a few times, and each time I’ve had to reinstall Emby Server and manually reconfigure all the media paths. Is there a way to install or move Emby Server to the D : drive so that I don’t lose my configuration if I ever have to reinstall Windows again? I’d love to make the setup more resilient and avoid repeating the same steps every time. Thanks in advance! Edited August 28, 2025 by jmoor98904
GrimReaper 4739 Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 Each Emby instance is self-contained, just copy/move entire Emby-server folder (Win default is C:\Users\<your-user>\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server) to D:\ drive and start it from there (EmbyServer.exe).
