Deleting movie and music is different

Hi, 

I am using the latest stable Version and my question is why does the delete function act different on movies/shows and music? 

 

When i delete a movie it is deleted from the file system, this is what i expect the function to do, but if i delete a music Album it only deletes data from appdata but not the directory of the Album Like it does with movies and shows. 

 

Why is there a difference? 

 

It would be great if it behaves the same like deleting movies and really deletes them.

 

With music after a new scan everything is back so it does not delete the directory containing the music.

Hi.  Albums are not derived from the file structure. They are derived from metadata within your songs so there is not necessarily a single folder to be deleted.

However, it would make sense for the album deletion to physically delete all the songs that are tagged to be in that album - regardless of location.  Right now, it is behaving more like a collection which is truly virtual.

So it means if i delete the Songs using the emby Web Browser the Album would disappear and the Single songs will be deleted the same way like movie? 

 

Or is there no way to really delete music using the GUI or API?
