Black Screen on Google TVs

Hello, 

I am currently trying out Emby on my Asustor NAS (current PLEX user). A few days ago, I downloaded the app on a Sony and HiSense TV (google TV OS). On both TVs the app will crash and all I get is a black screen. I have to go into app settings in Google TV to force stop Emby to resolve this. 

Is this a common issue on Google TV, are there any tweaks or fixes to resolve this?

On the Sony TV, browsing photos it froze up and the user has to hit the home button to get out of the app. The next day, turned the TV on and the emby screen was black. Had to force stop it to open properly. 

On the Hisense tv, I opened the app to a black screen and ended up force stopping it. It had been working the day before after it was installed.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

I installed version 3.4.74. on my Hisense TV. I will see how that works and provide an update in a few days.

Yes, this is a common and very well-known issue on some Google TV devices. The usual solution is to clear the cache/data of the Emby app or reinstall it, but if it persists, you may have to wait for the next app update.
