Emby version 4.8.11 was released in March. If you installed last night then what version did you install? There haven't been updates for months.

Do you have the deb package downloaded already? Try:

$ sudo dpkg -i emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb

$ sudo dpkg -i emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb

TRIED THIS WITH THE CORRECT EMBY DOWNLOAD IN MY DOWNLOAD FOLDER AND NOW I GET THIS ERROR ( SORRY DIDNT MEAN CAPS) JUST GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED )

danny@Danny-Server:~$ sudo dpkg -i emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb
[sudo] password for danny:
dpkg: error: cannot access archive 'emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb': No such file or directory
danny@Danny-Server:~$ $ sudo dpkg -i emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb
$: command not found
danny@Danny-Server:~$  sudo dpkg -i emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb
dpkg: error: cannot access archive 'emby-server-deb_4.8.11.0_amd64.deb': No such file or directory
danny@Danny-Server:~$

You have to run the command from the same directory/folder where the .deb file is located. Navigate (cd) to that folder then try again with "sudo dpkg..." not "$ sudo dpkg...".

All i know is that the .deb file is located in my downloads folder . I have no idea how the directory system works or where the terminal function is looking for the directory. I followed an out of date guide with emby that took it from the download directory.  Thinking ubuntu is hard work haha

Read a basic primer on Linux. But yeah, if that's too much then stick with Windows because the installation is the simplest part of what you'll need to know to run Emby on Linux.
