Metadata editor for non mkv medias ?

Hi

Would someone know a good editor for metadata edition of video files that are not MKV ? I use MKVToolnix for mkv that works great but I have also some MP4, AVI, ... files that I'd like to correct.

The tool needs to work in Linux. I guess I could do it with FFMPEG but it's not very easy to use in command line, would prefer if possible something more straightforward.

MKVtoolnix will happily open an .mp4 container, allow you to modify and then easily remux to an .mkv container as an output. Unless there is a specific reason you want to retain the .mp4 container.

Thanks a lot for the info, was not aware MKVToolnix could edit metadata in MP4 files  and sure no problem to convert mp4 to mkv

Just needs now to find the same for avi if it exists....

MKVToolnix strikes again, you can remux avi to mkv.

Thanks for the trick, I didn't realise remux was so fast so no pain to remux to get tracks et subtitles properly tagged
