PiosOne 2 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 (edited) I have MycBook Air M2 MacOS 15.6.1 Emby app 2.2.33 (29), Emby server 4.8.11.0 (Synology). Always after a few minutes of playing the video the image disappears and there is only a gray screen, the sound continues to play. The controls in the application work, but only a gray screen is visible. When I go back to the movie list, the images and dashboard are OK. Edited August 25, 2025 by PiosOne
Luke 42555 Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
PiosOne 2 Posted September 5, 2025 Author Posted September 5, 2025 I reinstalled Emby client and restarted Emby server and now is everything fine. Thank you for help. 1
PiosOne 2 Posted September 5, 2025 Author Posted September 5, 2025 The joy was premature. It happened again. I noticed that the problem occurs when I move the image from the macbook to an external monitor. or from the monitor to the macbook (depending on where the emby is launched). embyserver.txt
PiosOne 2 Posted September 5, 2025 Author Posted September 5, 2025 The image is not working, the sound is working and everything seems fine on the server

Could you see if there are any app crash reports ? If it is crashing, there should be a .ips crash report Use the MacOS Finder and selecting "Go to Folder..." and then typing the following in the folder to go to field ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ Look then for the Emby app crash reports Files will be named : Emby-yyyy-mm-dd-hhmmss.ips find these and attach the files. suggest you copy them out and zip into a zip file and attach the zip Edited May 27 by sa2000
bubffm 11 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Rebooting my Mac seems to have fixedit. I'll keep monitoring. Thanks. 2

bubffm 11 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 that was the only "Emby......ips" file I had in that folder. Once it crashes again I will send a new one. 1
sa2000 775 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 @bubffm Thanks We now have app logging available which would be useful to have So please go to App Settings, Select Logs and then Settings. Enable app logging Exit back and close down the app and re-launch If you check App settings / Logs now you should see an emby log file created So run with app logging enabled When the crash occurs, look for the ips files - also look for any ips files at the time that could be for jettisoning app by the OS and launch the app, go to App settings and Logs and select all the log files and use share to send them to get them from the app and then make available with rthe ips file(s)
sa2000 775 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 @bubffmAny more crashes ? Have you managed to get the Emby app debug logging enabled?
