Santiag0 10 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Just my thoughts, emby's top bar on clients other than a pc have everything tucked neatly into the left side bar except the emby logo put that in the upper right corner and have the logo slowly spinning would be a great look instead of the regular. 1
Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Hi, you're saying you want the Emby logo to spin?
Santiag0 10 Posted August 24, 2025 Author Posted August 24, 2025 Yes like this but instead of it being a dvd it's the emby logo because the emby logo I like it. https://mikael.neocities.org/collections/disc-gifs/cd_031.gif 1
ebr 16169 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Hi. Don't you think that would be terribly distracting? 1

Yeah I have a better idea, leave the top bar and have the trailer play on the top left while leaving the cover art pic on the top right but remove the movie or show info on the top left and only have the media info show after you click on a movie or show. Once you click a movie or show do not have the trailer play in that window only the homepage.

Yes it is except R_volution and opposite is better brother why be the same as all the other stuff. I mean we could do something simple like after you browse through movies and find one you like and click on it.. oh shit I just thought of something, intros for movies that go by network so before the movie plays you get this video before you hit the play button. 1
Santiag0 10 Posted August 25, 2025 Author Posted August 25, 2025 It's hard for you to see what it is I'm talking about so tomorrow I will try and dig out some of my old stuff to screen record and show you from an android tv how it looks and that way you will understand more. 1
Santiag0 10 Posted August 27, 2025 Author Posted August 27, 2025 Actually R_volution they have a server that there clients connect to they make all the video backdrops themselves, sounds like a lot of work why not just link to youtube. If you can do video backdrops once you click a movie it can't be to hard to get it running on the home page? make it smaller to fit on the upper left and upper right have the poster cover whats involved in making this happen @ebr & @Luke my 2 favorite people
Santiag0 10 Posted August 27, 2025 Author Posted August 27, 2025 Oh and heres another thing, if the trailers on homescreen are in the upper corner they will be smaller meaning the trailers from youtube which normally is crap quality will be better because the smaller the image the better it looks no?

A good way to proceed is to do a mockup image showing what you think would work best. Be aware that you can line everything up fine for a full size browser on a notebook and the code may break for mobile or iPad and possibly also for TV App playback. For large online social media services, typically, a desktop and mobile mock ups are made. For Emby you may want to add in a TV App mockup for perhaps 1280 pixel width. I have no idea what Emby design team would prefer. A mockup design can then be more easily commented by everyone. You need to spend some time with a graphics editor. When you make mockups, you might even find a better way to set up the page and they are fun to do.
unisoft 352 Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) TV show idents, such as the Hulu one you showed, can be done with Vantage Point plugin from Emby Catalog. You can use conditions for movies or TV. Also you can set a metatag that points to main filename of an ident/intro for each episode. For movies, I have a cinema trailer, a turn off mobile phones intro, an emby ident, a 10 second countdown sequence then the bbfc movie rating slate. All are videos and the logic allows random selection of a pool of Intros. For example, to not always use the SAME video for 10 second countdown, it's possible to select one from a selection of different style countdown. Edited September 2, 2025 by unisoft
