By default emby does a good job in finding the cast & crew for most titles but a lot of it ends in the grey logo with no cast or crew which is not the prettiest looking. Instead of having that maybe by default have it so if it finds nothing for a cast or crew just have nothing show instead would look much nicer than a blank one. Just my thoughts.

HI, I don't quite understand. Can you please show some kind of example of what you're asking for? Thanks !

Are you wanting to not show/hide blank placeholders.

Yes just have the blank ones not even show.

I like how Apple TV does it by putting their initials in there instead of an icon. Similar to WMC years ago.

I don't think that would look very nice.

imo you can't just not have them show. people use that row for actors names, even if they don't have a photo they still need to be listed.

I always delete them in metadata and sometimes none are there but it gets tiresome deleting them all the time. Just my preference though would be good if I could have an option to just not show them.

Just because the actor is blank in the thumbnail, does not mean that there is no information on them. Also, I've come across several instances where the actor's thumbnail is blank on one movie but there on another. I've then gone and updated metadata and the thumbnail appears.

In short, I like it as it is, but think the initials in a circle would look nice as well.

But the point of the cast list is to tell you who is in the movie, and those people were in the movie.
