The WEBUI dopes show YEARS...

 

 

I though t at one point there was an alpha picker on the the left side?? If not can one be added??

Forgot to mention... I use ALBUM ARTIST to sort..  Can the YEAR and alpha picker be added to ALBUM ARTISTS ?

First off, I love having the year displayed on all screens showing ALBUMS, TRACKS, MUSIC VIDEOS, etc.

However, what is the meaning of YEAR for an ALBUM ARTIST? The year they were born? Died? I just looked and was surprised that ALBUM ARTIST even had a "YEAR" entry in the metadata editor (not to mention RELEASE YEAR - what is that about?). I don't have any ALBUM ARTISTs with data in the YEAR field. Also I don't see YEAR as a sort or filter option for ALBUM ARTIST on the web ui. Am I missing what you're trying to say? I agree about the alphapicker, but I don't get the part about YEAR.

It's just that in your example above you're showing ALBUM ARTIST (2 Live Crew, 38 Special, etc.) trying to be sorted by YEAR, not the actual ALBUM.

I agree on the alphapicker for ALBUM ARTIST.

The entire idea is that the Roku matches exactly how the web app works. If it isn't doing that then we have a problem. The Alphapicker should show up when sorted by "Title". Does the web app let you sort by "Year" and still have the alphapicker?

We can fix the issue with year showing inconsistently and incorrect for some items. I know what is causing that issue.

Whatever shows on the web app should match what is shown on the Roku. If you can show more screenshots of where you find issues we can fix all these types of things.

When the view is an album artist I agree having the album artist repeated over and over as the 2nd line serves no purpose. Having the year there would be a much better idea. I can make sure we get this into the app too.

On the main music screen it might also be cool to add a 3rd line.

Artist Name
Year

We can probably do that too. There are some media types that need 3 lines to show everything as row items without cramming. I agree.

The alpha picker will only show when sorted by Title.  You can see in your screenshots, on the web you are sorting by title and on the Roku you are sorting by Year.  Sort by Title in the Roku.

BINGO..thank you..alphapicker there... It would be great top have the sorting filters on the albums page as well for roku..its on the albums page on the webui
