TheTVDB as a source

Hello,

Is it possible to use TheTVDB as the episode metadata provider for TV shows? I ask because Sonarr exclusively uses TheTVDB so it seems it would make most sense if Emby did too to ensure consistancy and minimize metadata mismatches.

What do you mean by that? TVDB is default provider for TV Shows-type libraries on new server installations. If you did not change anything, that should already be happening.

Hm, it's not for me. I guess because I've had Emby installed for 2 years now? Do I need to manually add the TVDB plugin?

If you've uninstalled it - yes. If you only disabled it (or moved it down from top-preferred metadata provider), you need to re-enable/re-arrange preferred providers.

May need to post a server log but TVDB has always been a primary TV provider for v3 and now v4 api.

Strange. Ok well I installed the plugin and got it working. But even though I ranked TVDB as number 1 provider for episode images, Emby is still plulling images from The Movie DB. I even deleted the show from Emby and re-added it and it still pulls episode images from The Movie DB, causing me to have to manually select the TVDB thumbnail episode-by-episode. Why would this be?

Try unticking/ticking TVDB image fetcher again. 

Edit: Also, is that a recently released/aired show? It can take up to 24 hrs for TVDB cache to catch up.
