Marca91 0 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 Hello, I’m encountering a serious issue in Emby when managing my Audiobooks library. My setup is: - Public/Shared Music/Audiolibri/ - inside "Audiolibri": multiple MP3 files (e.g., Book1.mp3, Book2.mp3, etc.) In Emby’s “Library Setup” I chose the structure option: **“Perfectly organized in author/book folders, with tracks directly inside book folders”**, which I believed would ensure safer deletion and better organization. However, when I delete just one audio file (e.g., Book2.mp3) through the Emby interface, Emby instead deletes the entire “Audiolibri” folder and all its contents, not just the selected file. This makes the delete operation extremely dangerous. Questions: - Is this a known bug when deleting files from a root-level audiobook folder? - Is there a safer configuration or workaround to prevent Emby from deleting entire folders? - Should I restructure the library into Author/Book subfolders to avoid this error? (Even though the current structure matches what Emby asks me to set.) For now, the only workaround is to avoid using Emby for deletions and use file manager manually, which isn’t ideal. Thanks for your attention to this. Best regards

Luke 42077 Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Where exactly did you click delete? Can you please show a screenshot example? The delete confirmation dialog box indicates what path will be deleted. Do you recall what it said?
Luke 42077 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 @Marca91can you please show the complete screenshot of the user interface so that I can see the context? Thanks.
