Excessive Bandwidth Usage

Hi the bug is come.back on fire tv. I have 4k file limited to 5mbits in transcoding and that use in 16 to 30 mbits. An another exemple 1080 h264 limitea du 5 mbits transcoding at 4 mbits but use 30mbits on upload only in this server emby. That arrive few day ago and i have only 50mbis that slow my job work beacause of this bugs. Nothing people have see that an no report on redddit or emby forum. Is major problem. That do 6 month amd more all.working good 5mbits limita and 5-7mbits was use before few day ago. 

 

On tv lg no problem and sony too.

My sever is on window 4.8.11

here data in real time all limit is sett to 5mbits but 27 to 36mbits use in upload only for that

Because i dont use upload and see in my router the pc and is upload in real time. My normal upload that count in kbits. I see difference between firestick and lg and samsung for same file. Sending pass from 5-7 mbita to 21-37 mbits for only one stream

I searching for apk for firestick before version 2.x.26a for try to proof he have. A real bug im sure at 98% 8 month working normaly and few day that begin. Im not a beginer a full technicien in this domain and my setup are equip with commercial router peplink balance two.

How about if you try downloading the standard Android version on your Fire TV device, you can search the Amazon store for "Emb" and installing the other app to compare.

Good morning i try the 3.4.74 version where onlly 200 people like this version vs 5000 people like v 2.x.26a 

 

i add exemple upload only for one stream 1080p 5mbis setting.

 

the two version have probem that let me thinking and update on server side on my windows.

 

if i can download old version iii can try i just dont want to lose all configuation and user data

i try to replace folder system by 4.8.10 and 4.8.7 but emby continue to stay 4.8.11

ok sucess for 4.8.7 but same problem 34 mbits upload limited 1080p 5mits

for information the quality of picture is not 5mbits is a full 30 and more mbits quality. is so beatiful is not normal.

so if i downgrade server the only possibility touch two version of emby on firecube of firestick. its like if its ignorated the downgrade

i joint other log i try on my lg tv and hisense tv on google os. for lg tv tha lmite at 3-7.79mbits thats ok for the two stream in parrallell is on 7-30mbits. a little  to much up.

No i use one pc on windows with p4000 quatro and proxy reverse on gnix on proxmox vm fedora all working good few day ago a i dont update my servers

 

I do.a video explain on tv not on fire tv work good example in lg tv upload is.normal.

First video with lg second on firestick 2.1.26a. Thats completely weird.

Bit of a guess since i'm far from a network expert.

Can it be hairpin nat and the clients connecting connecting on different IPs ?
If you use an external IP from inside the lan to connect to the server the router may see it as double the bandwidth used.

Thats as been test with only one client and router show the exact only upload for emby and picture of windoww show emby at 27 mbits for one user. And like have explain that touch only fire tv not lg tv not samsung tv. Is a real bug.

Are you sure that you're not just capturing the client buffering the stream? It's normal for the transfer rates to peak and fall during playback since Emby doesn't throttle the data transfer but only sets the video bitrate. The server will transfer the stream to the client as fast as the network allows then stops and waits for the next request from the client.

yes im sure like i exlain on lg tv limited to 5mbits variation is on 5-10mbts but on fire tv is up to 37mbits. last 8 months tthat was not a problem i have kind 10 people use it amd have only 50mbits upload.

 

second test. i create on second server on secnd pc  ,openport 8096 , same gpu transcodng with nvidia p4000 with no https. only http.

same problem 27-37mbits. for one stream on fire tv. 

we can ignore nginx that cannot be th case.

Is this your server or someone else's? If it's yours, why are you not posting the data from the user sessions tab? It will tell you exactly what you need to know. Install the diagnostics plugin if this is your server, and the user sessions tab will show up in the left tab when you manage your server. Click on it while you are playing something and it will tell you exactly what is going on.

Isn't some of this data skewed as your media is on network shares, so you get up/down to media and up/down to client?  ie Man-in-the-Middle

 

OP may want mod to remove non-anonymized transcode logs.

And no my data are not false. i have truenas server on same network i i dont check internel network bandwith i check upload bandwith from outside. and i dont use more thant 100kbits upload in normal charging network.

i juste to install emby server on truenas scale. open port 8096 and remote fire tv on my cellular au play my epide same problem. 27mbits for only one file limited to 5mbits so is completely broken and is not side of all server,  is on client side on firetv.
