Android app (phone) not resuming

I am trying to use the android app on my phone (tried on 2 different phones, I have downloaded the latest version) but videos will not resume. 

I can watch and resume videos through a windows web browser, through the app on my TV (emby android TV), and through the web browser on the phones in question. I can watch the videos from the beginning of the file on the phone app, but when I try and resume a video it just sits there an doesn't every start. I have used the same user on the phone for the web browser log in and the app log in.

In the log I tried to resume the video through the android app on the phone at 0830 (didn't play), then at around 0830 and a half I resumed the video through the browser on my phone (it played fine).

Hi, is the problem only with this one file? ?What type of drive is your Z drive?

All files won't resume when tried through the android app (but do through the web version)

Z drive is a windows storage space ( created a few weeks ago, no other issues with it). I have been using a storage space for years with no issues.

On my tv ( NVIDIA shield) I also installed the regular version of the android app  along side the android tv version. Android tv version can resume the video, Regular version can't resume. 

I got an old iPad out (2016 one). The ipad app resumes the file.

OK was there an ffmpeg log from when you tried to resume on android?

Luke, thanks for the help, whilst this might not actually be a contributing factor  the audio was encoded AC3 was where i think trouble lay, re encoded it AAC and my problems have gone.
