KandyMan 7 Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 I'm not sure at what point this happened as I generally update to the latest beta quite frequently, but my playlists no longer display any items in them. I'm sure the data is still there as they still display how long the playlist is. This was definitely working earlier in the current beta cycle but appears to have broken since. Currently broken in 4.9.18 and was also broken in 4.9.17
Luke 42077 Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!

I'm not sure when the problem started, I only noticed it yesterday, here's all of the logs Emby has available to download, hopefully they help embyserver.txt embyserver-63890793652.txt embyserver-63890726400.txt embyserver-63890640000.txt embyserver-63890553600.txt embyserver-63890467200.txt
Luke 42077 Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 Hi, are they still empty? I don't really see anything obvious here. Did you move media files around?

I think I had to move playlist files around a long time ago when doing an upgrade from synology dsm 7 to 7.1 or 7.1 to 7.2 or something, I think there was a thread on it at the time, but it’s a long time ago and I may be misremembering, they were definitely working just a couple weeks ago and nothing has changed since then except upgrading to the latest betas. They’re still empty but if I make a new playlist they appear.
Luke 42077 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Are these playlists that you created in Emby?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Do you by chance have any Access or Parental Controls enabled on the User? From a basic test as User has restricted access the playlist shows Empty.
KandyMan 7 Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 Sorry for not replying sooner, it's been a busy time. The playlists were all created in emby yes. Any that were created within the last few months or so appear fine, but playlists that have been there for years show like in Happy2Play's screenshot above. I have no Access or Parental Controls on the user, this is the admin emby user. That screenshot is exactly what I see though. I wonder if when during one of the DSM updates when I had to move playlists around it could have revoked some permissions for the emby Synology user? I'm reaching a bit there though I think
Happy2Play 9780 Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 But with Emby showing a duration for the playlist it would suggest something wonky with user access as it know the actual duration for all the content that should be listed.
Solution Luke 42077 Posted October 1, 2025 Solution Posted October 1, 2025 Hi ,have you updated to the latest build? if you refresh the metadata on one of these playlists, does that help? 1

I just updated to 4.9.1.80 a couple of hours ago, and yes refreshing the metadata on the playlists fixed every single one of them, thanks! 1 2
