Oleksii.Zeltser 3 Posted August 13, 2025 Posted August 13, 2025 Hello there! I have a problem which I can't solve a few weeks. I have fiber-optic internet at home. Connection goes via gpon terminal. My external IP (below, from Synology external access). But my gpon terminal has other IP (below 172.22.*.*). I've done port forwarding on my router (below). And nothing work. In Emby I have these settings. If I changed IP from 37.57.*.* (how in Synology) to 172.22.*.* I can connect from in-home Internet but not a remote. Could you help me? What am I doing wrong?
Luke 42077 Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Quote I can connect from in-home Internet but not a remote. Hi there, what exactly happens when you try?

Luke 42077 Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 OK are you sure Emby server is running? Are you still able to access it from inside your local network?

Luke 42077 Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Are you sure the remote address that you're trying is correct?

sa2000 674 Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 172.22.xx.xx is within the Private Network local addresses range - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network So it looks like you have Double NAT - I added a section on Double NAT in this article https://emby.media/support/articles/Connectivity.html

Oleksii.Zeltser 3 Posted August 29, 2025 Author Posted August 29, 2025 (edited) I'm sorry that I don't have enough knowledge, and it's a little difficult for me I've read the article. I did additional forwarding but nothing work. Then I added two more forwarding (ports from my Synology). Nothing work again. I can't understand where I can find server public http port? sa2000 674 Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 You appear to have your own router managing your 192.168.0.xxx network and you probably have an isp provided router/modem with its 172.22.xxxx network The simplest option for you is to set your ISP provided router in modem : bridge mode - find out how to do that and then you will just have one router
Oleksii.Zeltser 3 Posted August 29, 2025 Author Posted August 29, 2025 My provider gave me gpon terminal like on a photo (it has IP 172.22.xx.xx). Is it possible to do bridge mode?

Oleksii.Zeltser 3 Posted September 4, 2025 Author Posted September 4, 2025 Hi there! I've solved my problem. I bought public IP for extra monthly fee. Thanks a lot to everyone 2
