Double Feature Movies

I may be the last to know this, but that wouldn't be surprising.......Have some TV episodes that are double feature movies. The movies are broken into 2 separate files. Couldn't figure out how to list them as a single Episode like they are listed on TheTVDB. Took a chance and listed both as the same episode number and they both showed up as Versions. Was not expecting that at all but glad it seems to work.

Hi, yes when they have the same episode numbers the server will treat them as the same content.

Using the Emby naming convention (found here: https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html) you can split / join episodes:

This only works if your TV(Shows) source also listed the movie as an episode.

So in YOUR case:

Screaming Yellow Theatre (1970) / Season 02 / Screaming Yellow Threatre (1970) - s02e43 - Woman who Came Back
Screaming Yellow Theatre (1970) / Season 02 / Screaming Yellow Threatre (1970) - s02e43 - Back from the Dead
Screaming Yellow Theatre (1970) / Season 02 / Screaming Yellow Threatre (1970) - s02e44 - The Man Who Wouldn't Die (Part 1) - The Man Who Wouldn't Die
Screaming Yellow Theatre (1970) / Season 02 / Screaming Yellow Threatre (1970) - s02e44 - The Man Who Wouldn't Die (Part 2) - Dr Terrors House of Horrors
Screaming Yellow Theatre (1970) / Season 02 / Screaming Yellow Threatre (1970) - s02e45 - Dante's Inferno

I can't seem to find "Dr Terrors House of Horrors" in the TV-show listing though. Even if you think it belongs in the episode list, isn't it technically a movie and shouldn't it also belong in a movie library? 

Other examples of splitting and joining which should normally work: 

Separated episodes:

Stargate SG-1 (1997) - Stargate SG-1 (1997) - s01e01 - Children of the Gods (Part 1)
Stargate SG-1 (1997) - Stargate SG-1 (1997) - s01e02 - Children of the Gods (Part 2)

Multiple episodes in one file:

Stargate SG-1 (1997) - Stargate SG-1 (1997) - s01e01-02 - Children of the Gods 

Multiple files for one episode:

Stargate SG-1 (1997) - Stargate SG-1 (1997) - s01e01 - Children of the Gods (Part 1-A)
Stargate SG-1 (1997) - Stargate SG-1 (1997) - s01e01 - Children of the Gods (Part 1-B)

It's a movie from five years before the TV series started, so what it's doing as a part episode in the OP's listing I can't think - this may be the OP's main problem....

A further complication is that TVDB only has a selection of episodes in its database; TMDB doesn't have the series at all; and IMDB has just the titles of all, matching the OP's numbering (but with no synopses), doesn't include the film as part of this series, and isn't used for data by Emby in any case.

And that's without reckoning the confusion with Svengoolie, a later show, but TVDB also has that name as an alias for Screaming Yellow Theatre, and incorrectly uses a Svengoolie poster for the original.

I guess the best bet for making anything of this series is to go on the TVDB site, renumber your episodes to match, and add to TVDB are further episodes that are required.

That's pretty much what I did. First tried to do as Versions but there were complications. Then tried as a separate library. Plus and minuses. Finally went by TheTVDB episode list. Problem there it's incomplete. Have some that are not listed and they have some errors. I saved the posters from the movies and used them as thumbnails. That helped make sure everything matches. Not to mention the episodes they reuse but the copyright date at the end helps.

It's an open database - make an account and you can add the missing episodes yourself and correct the errors you've noted.  I've done both of these, and also added missing series from scratch.

The naming conventions allow for some pretty cool mechanics.
I'd advise to ALWAYS follow that structure. My personal preference is: "Folder/Showname (year)/Showname (year) - s01e01 - Episodename.mkv". This way you can ALWAYS tell which show, which season and which episode purely by filename.

I agree. I've done this a couple of times as well with themoviedb and thetvdb when they suddenly deviated from their own standard. Fortunately the admins are pretty susceptible to valid arguments so that issue was fixed in no-time.

Yes. It actually helped me with a post I made on 07/09 about group tags. This pretty much accomplishes what I was wanting to do then. Maybe better even. I did notice 1 thing.....when I removed the initial movie to create the Collection, the People section became a hyperlink and I could see an expanded list. As is now with the movie I'm back to a scrolling list of People but that works ok.
