PiosOne 2 Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 I switched my entire library from Plex to Emby Premium. Everything was fine, except for the TV shows, each series felt like a separate TV show. According to the Emby Wiki, I found out that I had the individual parts named incorrectly like "show name S01E01 - Episode Name.ext" so I change it to "show name - S01E01 - Episode Name.ext". Now when I try to scan the library, there is nothing to see in the library for the TV shows. The other libraries (videos, music..) are fine. Sometimes after scanning the library, the TV shows looks OK, but several of them are scattered across individual series like standalone TV shows. The TV shows shown incorrectly like this are random and when I checked their names, they are named correctly. And sometimes after scanning library TV shows folder in Emby is empty. Can you please help me? embyserver.txt
patrick1972 0 Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 From the log, there are several possible causes for TV shows being displayed incorrectly: Duplicate / conflicting plugin versions In /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/plugins there are newer plugin versions than in /volume1/@appstore/EmbyServer/system/plugins (e.g., Tvdb.dll 1.6.2.0 vs. 1.5.8.0, MovieDb.dll 1.8.3.0 vs. 1.8.0.0). If Emby loads some old and some new versions, it can lead to incorrect metadata or mismatched series. TVDB plugin version mismatch Since TV shows are often matched via TheTVDB, loading two different versions of the TVDB plugin can cause inconsistencies in how titles, seasons, and episodes are identified. Local metadata / NFO plugin The NfoMetadata.dll also differs in version (1.0.83.0 vs. 1.0.82.0). For TV shows, this can cause mismatches in season layout if NFOs and online metadata don’t align. HTTP 503 during startup Shortly after startup, the server temporarily returns 503 Service Unavailable. If a library scan or metadata refresh happens at that moment, it can lead to incomplete or incorrect data. UPnP Port Mapping errors (errorCode 718) Multiple ConflictInMappingEntry messages. This is not a direct cause of wrong TV shows, but could have an impact if external metadata sources require UPnP access and the mapping fails. Most likely direct cause of “TV shows shown incorrectly”: The version conflict between plugin files (especially Tvdb.dll and related metadata providers) combined with mixed metadata sources (NFO vs. online) is likely causing Emby to store incorrect match information.
