Clackdor 109 Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 Currently a new version of a movie can retrieve different/less images from a metadata provider than what an existing version may already have. After the versions are grouped together by the automatic grouping options there is no way to change images within the emby web ui for any version other than the first one that was scanned into the library. We need to be able to set images indepently for each version from the emby web ui. Additionally there should be an option to copy all relevant images such as poster, banner, logo, etc. from one version to another if consistent images between versions are desired rather than separate ones. Ideally there should be a way to set a primary version that is prefered. One method could be to either use the metadata and/or cache folder to keep a primary version. Another method could be that each library folder is assigned a priority, and which ever version exists further up in the heirachy would be the version images are copied from. As an aside, this type of priority system for library folders could also be one possible method to assign the default version that is presented to clients. Of course this all needs to work regardless of whether you're storing images next to media, in the metadata folder, or a combination of the two.
