No HW transcoding?

Hi!

I noticed playback stuttering and saw that my DS423+ NAS CPU was at 100%.

Could the team plz take a look att the logs and tell me what could be the problem?

I send logs of two different movies.

Try using VAAPI on H.256 Decoding

Error while processing the decoded data for stream #0:0

After that it fails over to software transcoding.

You could also try using a client that supports HEVC,

You are using App: Emby Web 4.9.1.11 Firefox Windows.

Try with Edge if you want to use a browser.

It also look like you CPU can't do the transcoding fast enough.

Ï tried with the Android Client now. First with Quicksync and then with VAAPI. Stuttering...

It´s not using the GPU HW transcoding for some reason, so CPU goes up to 100%

Found this thread and disabling all tonemapping stopped the problem. No stuttering and CPU is at 10%.

Seems to have been a problem for a long time. No fix?

Exactly the same problem for me.

Stuttering and 100% CPU.

With all tonemapping off. I get HW transcoding and 10% CPU.

No fix for this problem?

HI, are you sure your server machine can handle tone mapping transcoding? It requires a very powerful server.

Hi!

The Synology DS423+ has a Intel J4125 CPU with iGPU and 10Gb ram.

I can see in the logs that Emby tries to work with HW but fails and go to SW.

Could it be a driver problem?

It could be that the driver we're embedding needs to be updated.

We will have a new ffmpeg build on the server beta channel in the near future, so stay tuned for that.
