No 24p support UWP app?

I am currently testing the UWP app in Windows 11 and I have found no 24p support, HDR and audio passthrough works but the player does not switch to 24p and in emby Theater you could at least integrate an external player, but now it doesn't work either. So the UWP app is pointless and unusable.

BTW: HDR10+ is still not usable under Windows 11?

The new Windows app is not an UWP app.

It integrates MPV player, so it can do the same things.
With which external player do you get 24p on your system?

I have MPC-HC running with madVR which automatically switches to 24p on Windows 11.

Why can't emby switch to 24p? The menu field was available with emby Home Theater.

Have you looked at Settings >> Display Control ?

@softworkz

Could you show me a screenshot of where this can be found? I have not found a menu item for Frameswitch, for 24p.

Click the cog and you'll see:

The three-dot menu will bring up various options according to your display (mine's very limited).

ok i found it, thanks but after the movie emby stays in 24p and HDR, so emby doesn't turn it off again.

There's an option right below.

@softworkzI found the menu for the switch to 24p and HDR, but apparently there is a bug in the Windows emby app. After you leave the movie Windows stays in 24p and HDR!

I have MPC-HC running with madVR as a test, so after the movie the picture jumps back to SDR and 60 Hz. This does not work with emby.

Hm, yea, tat's the latest.

Do you have TV mode enabled?

Could you please post a screenshot of the whole window (showing the Display Control options)?
Can you also please post or PM a log (after visiting this settings page)?
You find the logs under About >> Logs

Thanks

@softworkzHey, I had the “Do not reset display mode” checkbox selected, but I disabled it to test it out, and now everything is working as it should. :)

I'm glad to hear that it's resolved for you.

Thanks

@softworkzI sent you a private message with the log file. When I play a movie, Emby switches to 24p and HDR, but then I only see the loading bar spinning and nothing else. Emby doesn't play the movie. Can you see what the problem is?

Hey @softworkz

I sent you the logs. I have a Geekom GT1 Mega Mini PC with an Intel Ultra 7 CPU and Intel Arc GPU, and I can't use passthrough with Emby. As soon as I activate it, I get this endless loading bar, but nothing plays. As soon as I deactivate passthrough, playback works, but I have no sound. I don't have any other problems playing Dolby and DTS on my PC. Could you help? And will there be any updates for the Windows app again?
