okurokonfire 4 Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 (edited) This happened to me multiple times on different servers, starting from stable release(most currently 4.8.11.0) and beta releases(on truenas scale they pushed beta release to the default apps). These are the steps i took the most recent time, hopefully this description would be enough. I had Audiobook series by Щерба Наталья. I decided to clean up some metadata, and with that rename the Album Artist to Наталья Щерба(name and surname swap, i like it better this way) and after that i forced to refresh metadata. This is when i noticed the problem and I forced refresh everything: Author itself, containing folder in folder view, individual files, and finally on the whole library. the problem stayed. the problem: i now have both Наталья Щерба and Щерба Наталья in the search. But all of the albums are listed in the old one, but track count(without tracks themselves) are listed in the new one. And when i see the metadata on the individual file it actually shows the new Author Sorry if it makes it harder to understand with Cyrillic letters, just the example i had just now. I fixed this before by mass file renaming - but i got tired of this way and thought that maybe could submit it as a bug(or get real help). Edited August 4, 2025 by okurokonfire clarification
Luke 42077 Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Quote and with that rename the Album Artist Hi, how exactly did you do this?

Luke 42077 Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 OK you changed the album artist values for the tracks but what about the artist values?

I missed some info in the original post: there was Artist set to book author and album artist to the narrator, and i swapped Album Artist and Artist But thats not the point, i would expect that no matter how metadata has changed in the original files i can trigger some kind of refresh and it should be picked up correctly

You just run a normal library scan. That's all you need to do.

But i did that, multiple times. I see it in the logs, like this 2025-08-18 07:31:41.613 Info MediaProbeManager: ProcessRun 'ffprobe' Execute: /bin/ffprobe -i file:"/Media/Audiobooks/Русские/Часодеи/1 Часовой ключ/11_Opyat bezhat.mp3" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_chapters -show_format -f mp3 and it still shows with old metadata in the search and Artist/Album Artist page. the file itself shows new values but on the Artist/grouping level it still lists under old value
