leerph 5 Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 I have emby set up and running currently. I have a NAS box attached to the router that stores all my media. It works fine when the internet is working. However, when our internet goes out, I can no longer access emby. I would think there would be a way to watch it over my local network even without internet. When our internet goes out, it takes Comcast several days to come out and fix it, so being able to watch media stored on my NAS would be great. I just want to know if I'm missing something in my setup that would allow me to do this.
leerph 5 Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 My server runs on my local computer through a network cable that is plugged into the same switch as the Nas. Then I have firesticks that are connected to the wireless router that is connected to the switch as well.
Luke 42077 Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 And it's the firestick that you can't use when the internet is out? You're obviously able to access the server web interface, right?
leerph 5 Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 No. I'm not able to access the Nas from anything including my computer. I could have sworn it worked in the past even when the internet went out, but no luck this time. I can pull up the server interface on my computer and it comes up, but when I try and play any media I get an error of no suitable streams found.

Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
leerph 5 Posted August 2, 2025 Author Posted August 2, 2025 I figured it out. My router changed the ip of the Nas even though I had it set to static. I'm back up and running! 1
