nospotify 184 Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Stumbled on a problem when scrobbling to Trakt. After watching several episodes over several days, I looked on Trakt and saw that some episodes were correctly identified as one series (British "Death Valley") while several others were identified as a different series of the same name. In Emby, the series metadata correctly lists the correct MovieDB id (254897), as well as IMDB and TheTVDB, but when I look at individual episodes the only Metadata fields are for IMDB and TheTVDB. I suspect this is why some episode watches were misidentified on Trakt. Why doesn't Emby use all the same metadata provider fields for a series vs. its episodes?
Luke 42077 Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 Hi, it uses all of the available metadata that you have. it sounds like the variation is coming from what is in your server database.

Perhaps I wasn't being clear. The series was correctly identified by Emby, and Edit Metadata screen for the series correctly lists these metadata fields: But when viewing Edit Metadata for any individual episode, all.of which were also correctly identified by Emby, MovieDB isn't even an available field:

TMDB doesn't assign id codes to episodes. Paul

Paul I've been inquiring with Trakt Support, too, who said something that seems a bit different? "It seems the issue is that episodes 3-6 currently don’t have their TVDB IDs added on TMDB, so we don’t have them on Trakt and Emby can’t match them on our end because of that. I’ll add those IDs both here and on TMDB." 1
