CraigR4 3 Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 I have my media stored on my QNAP server and have set up port forwarding correctly. I use no.ip DUC v4.1.1 to ensure my external IP address is up to date, but sometimes I am unable to access my server remotely (or my BT home hub internally). If I reboot the home hub, it seems to resolve itself, but don't understand why emby is the only app that seems t be affected. I can still access my server through my QNAP cloud and Plex (sorry). I realise this is likely to be an issue with the BT home Hub, but wondered if anyone else had encountered/resolved it ?
Neminem 1516 Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 What happens if you via QNAP restarts Emby server ? Can you then access it ? I think Emby uses a Schedule to check external ip addresses, but a restart should force the check. In any case I use smart plug to restart a hanging router, if you still have access. That will not work if internet is down, unless you setup some sort of failover network.
