Jassefras 1 Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 (edited) Hi, I'm trying to install Emby on my nas, when I try to install it manually, I get the error message: Port 8096 which is configured for this packed is being used by another service or is destined to use by the system. Please disable the conflicting service or get in touch with the developer of this package to change it. (translated from dutch, so might be slightly different). Package which I try to install: Synology 7.2: 64-bit NAS When I try to install it from the package from package center, it downloads but then nothing, so I figured it will give the same issue. I've rebooted the NAS allready a couple times now, but it didn't solve it. Synology NAS DS918+ DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 4 Edited July 30, 2025 by Jassefras added extra info
Neminem 1518 Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Are you using jellyfin ? They use the same port
Jassefras 1 Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 I tried to install that earlier indeed, but didn't work quite for me in the install, so I uninstalled that with the docker in which it was.
Neminem 1518 Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 It might still have a hook on the port after uninstall. Reboot NAS and try again.
Solution Jassefras 1 Posted July 30, 2025 Author Solution Posted July 30, 2025 Found it, done a netstat -an and found a webserver that probably was using it. Uninstalled every webserver that I wasn' t using, rebooted and it installed. That was probably also why jellyfin didnt work. installed it now, going through the setup. Thanks 1
