nightknight 35 Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 (edited) EDIT: in the series folder sometimes emby thinks 2 different shows are the same show and groups them together. but it would be a lot easier to find the series in question and manually identify them if i could just set the filter to show duplicates only for tv shows Edited July 28, 2025 by nightknight 1
Luke 42077 Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 HI there, can you please provide a specific example? How to Report a Problem Thanks !
nightknight 35 Posted July 28, 2025 Author Posted July 28, 2025 i dont have a problem. im just requesting that you please add a way to filter tv shows and show only duplicates just like in movies.
nightknight 35 Posted July 28, 2025 Author Posted July 28, 2025 i mean i just want to filter "TV Shows" library by duplicates. just like in the movies library you can filter the movies to only show the duplicate movies.

In the upcoming 4.9 release, you can do that in the episodes tab of a TV library.
brothom 177 Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 @nightknightI think what @Lukemeans is that TV Shows themselves can't really be duplicated. What happens is that Emby finds an episode, matches it to a TV Show and season and adds the episode to the season and the season to the show. By this definition only Episodes can be "duplicated", Season or Shows cannot.
nightknight 35 Posted August 7, 2025 Author Posted August 7, 2025 (edited) I see your point. What I meant by duplicated is there might be a series folder on hdd1 but now I add a series with a similar name to hdd2. But now I have a duplicate entry for tgat tv show and all of its episodes untill Its manually identified. EDIT: to clear up any confusion. this is only the behavior if you turn off grouping of multiple folder across series in your library settings. Otherwise it will only show the two series merged together as 1. Edited August 7, 2025 by nightknight

brothom 177 Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 I don't want to necro threads but I would also like to see a feature where "duplicates" can be filtered by. This came to my attention in a weird way, having two files: I:\Media\Movies\M3GAN (2022)\M3GAN (2022).mkv G:\Media\Movies\M3GAN (2022)\M3GAN (2022).mkv Will result in two separate results instead of them becoming versions (I suppose the expectation here is that they become "versions"?) I can only assume this also happens with all other forms of media, books, episodes, etc. Trying to figure out "how" to actually search by duplicate only gave me the idea to sort / count by unique external ID's (i.e., all items that contain multiple TMDb id's, etc). This doesn't seem to be related to naming conventions as my files are named correctly and are also identified as such. It's just that if they are contained within a different drive or partition, they seem to become duplicated.
Luke 42077 Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Hi, duplicates filtering has been added to the upcoming 4.9 server release. Thanks. Quote (I suppose the expectation here is that they become "versions"?) Yes this is the requirement for the filter.
