Ugnaughts 53 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) recently ive been working on a all in one solution to srt sub titles. so its been a bit of a challenge, for anyone who has worked with this stuff. so far i built an app that auto syncs the video from strm files using whisper ai , to the srt you have. so no matter what srt you get, it will be within a second of them speaking. no more searching 5 to 40 seconds to match srt up just to watch your show. i felt like that was major accomplishment since nothing on the web dose that for strm files, and maybe couple possible apps do local files, but not very friendly. so then i started looking into options as far getting the srts them selves. so i started building scrapers for few sites that have recent stuff on them, and dont use Cloudflare. finding api for these sites would be nice, but open subtitles is super unreasonable price. not finding much on api for other sites. usually popup spam , but scraping avoids that, but then thats a technical no no lol. addicted plugin with gestdown is really good not great for shows, but it dont do knowing for movies ... i dont mind 20 a year for subtitles as long as they got it all and an api. but other than that i think its getting a little to far. maybe emby could just host the srt files on there server, for emby members only. even if they had a million titles it would be under 100 gb drive. basically the ocasional high network traffic to download for there users. once i figure out a auto way to get all srts for movies and shows, then ill work on making this srt sync work with local files as well. then post on here for others to use. but its not ready for public yet. they will need windows pc, regular nvidia card, and about 8gb download or disk space. ill test this plugin as well if anyone has any good suggestions reply to this, and ill check into . Ugnaughts 53 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 seems like great site and plugin. although it did over 4000 requests and downloaded 20 srts. i tried using api and get blocked by cloudflare. so seems to good to be true i guess. unless you want to download one at time....
Ugnaughts 53 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 well i found that i dont need the 20 per month for open subtitles for an api to use there service. its 20 per year for 1000 srt daily , so thats good for me. not sure if this site will get there api cloudflare figured out. but till then open subtitles seems good enough.
