updatefreak 11 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Hi, it would be good if series for Audiobooks could be added like in the screenshot below (e.g. for Harry Potter series etc.) and show the number of the included books (e.g. 7) In the list it should then be: recommendations, audiobooks, series, authors, genres, directories. Another feature what could be added is the remaining time for a audiobook and maybe the progress of listening, e.g. 17 h + 29 min left, which is a progress of 23 % Another thing is the metadata provider Audible.de / Audible.com and iTunes can be added (see screenshot below) This leads to an automatic fill in for Title Subtitle Authors Year Series + Number of Series Description categorie (=genre) tags teller ISBN ASIN editor language
sh0rty 714 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Or we simply continue to use Audiobookshelf, which fits like a glove for this purpose. After all these years of hoping, I no longer see Emby developing into an equivalent of ABS regarding Audiobooks. 3

updatefreak 11 Posted September 12, 2025 Author Posted September 12, 2025 I guess not (it was some time ago). I have to check the OpenLibrary metadata provider 1

I have to check the OpenLibrary metadata provider Did you ever go back and try it? I threw 126 books by 30ish authors at it and it found the info for 1 author and about a dozen books. I threw my Google Books custom metadata provider at my books library of over 2000 and I am having to search to find one it missed.
updatefreak 11 Posted October 23, 2025 Author Posted October 23, 2025 Where to select the OpenLibrary as metadata provider for audiobooks?
Solution Luke 42077 Posted October 23, 2025 Solution Posted October 23, 2025 Hi, first you need to install OpenLibrary from the plugin catalog.
updatefreak 11 Posted October 24, 2025 Author Posted October 24, 2025 Thanks for the explanation. Looks good
Jdiesel 1431 Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Hardcover is being developed as a Goodreads alternative. It may be the best option moving forward for metadata that isn't owned by Amazon. There is an API, though still be developed. https://docs.hardcover.app/api/getting-started/ 1 1
