Will restoring from a backup reintroduce previous issues to clean install?

Hi,

I’ve been running Emby on MacOS & I’m having some odd issues that I can’t seem to get sorted out. So, I’m now looking at doing a clean/fresh install. I’ve read through all the extensive info at the Backup & Restore link and have everything backed up as it directs.

Now I’ve done all the backups, I have a question before I proceed: is there any potential for the issues/glitches being reintroduced to the clean install if I restore the data from a backup? Is that something to be concerned about or is there anyway to limit that likelihood? Thanks in advance.

I’ve been having weird things happen with Playlists. I started a thread but missed your reply awhile back. I’ve added more info, answering your question. Just to confirm, for anyone who may locate this later…

YES, it is possible for a glitch to be reintroduced via restoring a backup even if it’s an otherwise clean install. I found out the hard way. Currently attempting to restore the backup I took of the clean install and hope that resolves the issues again.
