MrSuspect 0 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Hi all, I'm currently using Dispatcharr to manage and organize my IPTV M3U playlist before importing it into Emby as a Live TV source. Dispatcharr helps me with: Prioritizing backup streams if the main one fails Structuring and cleaning up the M3U for household use Making it easier to feed the playlist into Emby What I want to do now is add automatic catch-up support to the M3U file — for channels that allow it — before it reaches Emby. Ideally, this would be: Either built into Dispatcharr Or done as a preprocessing step before importing into Emby I’m not using Kodi or Jellyfin, but I spoke with the developer of a catch-up script (meant for Kodi), and he told me: "As far as I know, the IPTV functionality of Emby doesn't process catch-up at all, unless you've seen information to the contrary. The script I provided puts the catch-up source URL in the correct form for Kodi with Simple Client, and on Jellyfin there's a plugin called jellyfin.xtream that gives you catch-up and VOD in Jellyfin, but I'm not sure if there's an equivalent in Emby." So my questions are: Does Emby support IPTV catch-up (via catchup-source and catchup-type tags) from an M3U file? Is there any known plugin, workaround, or advanced setup to make Emby recognize and handle these catch-up links? Has anyone successfully gotten catch-up to work inside Emby with Xtream-based IPTV? I’d really appreciate any guidance or experiences. I’m still learning how this ecosystem fits together, and I'm using tools like ChatGPT and claude.ai to understand the moving parts. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Hi @MrSuspect, I think our new WebStreams plugin can help with this:
MrSuspect 0 Posted December 9, 2025 Author Posted December 9, 2025 @LukeThank you. I have seen the plugin. Is there any chance it will support xtream?
