impaych 3 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 I just purchased a Roku voice remote RCA1R. It works fine except that after I delete a TV episode in Emby it exits out of Emby and takes me back to the TV's main screen. I tested it on 2 different TCL/Roku TV's and they both kick me out to the main menu after deleting an episode. My older voice remotes and IR remotes delete without exiting Emby. Roku calls the remote RCA1R but my TCL TV says it is a RC1082. Any idea why pressing OK to delete something would kick me out of Emby?
ebr 16169 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Hi. I doubt this has anything to do with the remote. That is probably a coincidence. Can you please go into your Roku settings and turn on "Debug Option". Then re-start the app and create the problem. Then restart the app and immediately go to the user menu and select the "Send log" option. Then come back here and tell me when you did that. Thanks.

impaych 3 Posted July 25, 2025 Author Posted July 25, 2025 Version 4.1 build 46. After 2 days of consistent behavior, the same thing happened last night on a different TCL/Roku TV with an old remote. I don't know if that helps or makes it even weirder. Same version of Emby on both TV's. Thanks.

ebr 16169 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Thanks for trying. I think I've chased this issue down. Thanks for reporting. If you will wait a few seconds after returning from playback before deleting the item, I believe you will avoid this problem. Wait until the screen updates with the new next up episode and proper watched status, etc.

Now when an episode is nearing the end and I press the back arrow to go back to the series screen it takes me out of Emby and back to the Roku home screen. I couldn't even try deleting until I went back into Emby. At least I know it has nothing to do with the new remote! Thanks.

impaych 3 Posted July 27, 2025 Author Posted July 27, 2025 I may not be using the correct terminology. I watched episode 5 of a 6 episode series. While the episode credits were playing I used the back arrow on the Roku remote to go back to the episode 5 screen. Instead of taking me back to the episode 5 screen Emby disappeared and left me at the main Roku menu screen. Next, I went back into Emby and to the series I was watching and selected episode 5 and then selected the delete button.
