Duplicate Smart Cover Mode / Adjustable Aspect Ratio (less aggressive crop)

Hi Emby team,

I really appreciate the Cover aspect ratio mode in the Emby app — it helps create a true full-screen cinema experience on my 65" OLED TV.

However, the crop can be a bit too aggressive sometimes. I’d love to see:

A new “Smart Cover” mode that only crops ~5–10% from top/bottom, instead of fully eliminating black bars.

Or a custom “Crop %” or “Zoom %” slider, where users can manually adjust how much to zoom the picture vertically.

This would strike the perfect balance between immersion and image preservation — especially for users like me who are fine with small black bars, but want to avoid massive ones.

 

Thank you for considering this — it would be a killer addition to an already amazing app.
