RyanMcDonald 0 Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Hello, im running emby on my Linux server, works perfectly fine on local network and was up till recently running fine on a vpn into my network, now I’m having issues with my DNS (dumb Canadian companies not issuing static ips). I seen that there is emby connect, I remember seeing somewhere someone didn’t have premium and was able to use it then people said it didn’t work, so I got premium to avoid any weird issues and yet still getting one. When I try and login after setting it up and port forwarding it tells me incorrect login, and try again. After resetting multiple times and even deleting user and reading with new email address same issue persist. Anyone have a fix for this?
brothom 177 Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 (edited) @RyanMcDonaldif you connect directly via your server (by visiting your IP-adress via your browser, for example 12.34.56.78:8096), you'll have to login with the user's Server credentials as created via de user dashboard. This includes using a password. Connecting to your website via https://app.emby.media/, filling in your ip and port and thén using Emby Connect, should allow you to login with your Emby credentials. Luke 42077 Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 HI @RyanMcDonald, brothom is probably right. The most common reason for incorrect login is confusing the difference between Emby Connect and the private users on your server. What login screen exactly are you trying to log into? Can you please show a screenshot example? Thanks.
RyanMcDonald 0 Posted July 23, 2025 Author Posted July 23, 2025 So when I go into the Emby app, and select “Sign in with Emby connect” I get the following message. When I try to go on the website and use the same credentials to login I have no issues (not Emby connect). When I go to my user everything matches up to what I’m entering in.
Luke 42077 Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 @RyanMcDonaldwhen you say website, what website exactly are you referring to?
