tv folder refresh

hi all,

running latest emby on latest arch, already for years, normally not an issue, needed to migrate to a new machine a few months ago. I had to change some series folder names and content, when I trigger full library scan or library scan for TV folder, it does run through the scan but does not add the new tv show folders and also does not seem to update existing folders with changed files in it.

If I go into the specific tv show and trigger a scan from the 3 dots on the tv show, then it does get it and updates the content but I have many shows and I can not do that manually for all folders, how could that be done automatically for all?

or is there way to trigger specific folder scan's via api, then I could write a script to do it for each folder in some automated way without having to do it via the web interface for each show which is not feasible.

it is def. not a permission problem, also no errors in the logs, thanks for any hints

library organized like this:
/english/TV/Show1/...
/english/TV/Show2/...
/english/TV/Show3/...
and so on, for movies:
/english/Movies/...

i also have same and other content in other languages organied like this:
/spanish/TV/Show1/...
/spanish/TV/Show2/...
/spanish/TV/Show3/...
and so on, for movies:
/spanish/Movies/...

there is a bunch of discs which contain show folders, by using "mount --rbind..." they are all mounted into their respective "show" directory under "English" or "Spanish" or both, e.g. if there is a show I have in dual audio available in the episodes files I would have the source directory e.g. /dev/sda1/show3 and "mount --rbind" it into /english/TV/Show3 and another "mount --rbind" into /spanish/TV/Show3

this has always been working fine, no issues, for some reason now the problem is when new episodes are added or new shows, in english emby does not seem to "see" the new episodes of existing shows/folders or newly added shows/folders anymore.

In spanish it still does see new episodes on existing shows/folders and new folders/shows overall and they show up in ember web interface but missing in English.

In some instances I needed to also re-name folder names of shows and/or change the episodes in the existing folders/shows but these are also not picked up.

When I go to manage the emby sever via the webinterface-->scheduled tasks-->"scan metadate folder" and "scan media library", it does not "see" the new episodes or new folders/shows under English.

I'm only able to get it updated properly only when I go to the show itself in the web interface and select the 3 dots and click on "scan library files" emby finally "sees" the new episodes/new shows/folders or adjusted episodes in existing folders/shows but I cannot do that for each show/folder (too many).

Is there a way to trigger a library file scan per show, e.g. using the API? then I could write a bulk script for all folders under English to do that scan for each folder

Can you please provide a specific example of what is missing?

Also, how many Emby libraires have you created, and what folder paths are added to each one?

I got 9 libraries that I added and emby added one called "colleactions" all my libraries are under "/glftpd/site/"

"/glftpd/site/Movies"

"/glftpd/site/Series"

"/glftpd/site/spanish/Movies"

"/glftpd/site/spanish/Series"

"/glftpd/site/german/Series"

"/glftpd/site/German/Movies"

"/glftpd/site/Audiobooks"

"/glftpd/site/German/audiobooks"

"/glftpd/site/spanish/audiobooks"

e.g. new TV show in dual audio that I have is called "Dog Impossible", so it is mounted to "/glftpd/site/Series/Dog Impossible/" and to "/glftpd/site/spanish/Series/Dog Impossible/"

to be more specific "mount --rbind /media/sda/Dog\ Impossible/ /glftpd/site/Series/Dog\ Impossible/" and "mount --rbind /media/sda/Dog\ Impossible/ /glftpd/site/spanish/Series/Dog\ Impossible/"

during the nightly scheduled scan task emby sees the new folder under /glftpd/site/spanish/Series/ called "Dog Impossible" and adds it to the library, it does not see the same folder under "/glftpd/site/Series/" called "Dog Impossible"

or when it is an existing folder it does pick up the new episodes that are in the spanish subdirectories but not under the English ones, e.g. new dual family guy episode added:

"/glftpd/site/Series/Family Guy/" does not see it by default scan (only when I go to the folder in the web interface (so to the folder of /glftpd/site/Series/Family Guy/) and click the 3 dots and ask it to scan that specific library items it does see the new episode and adds it)

"/glftpd/site/spanish/Series/Family guy/" sees the episode with the regular emby scan

does not seem to update existing folders with changed files in it.

Have you enabled the realtime monitor for each of the libraries that you'd like to do this for?
