Android app on shield, stutter and audio sync issues

I am starting to try out the android app on shield instead of the android tv app, but I have issues with playback. It is stuttering and the audio is out of sync, it's like it's not using hw acceleration.

attaching screenshots of stats for video playback

If I try the button to fix playback issues, it seems to stop the stuttering image, but not much more information on the stream except that "direct play" is removed from the mvk 10mbps

And in the server logs I see this:

2025-07-15 08:47:38.127 Info App: Starting transcoding because currentTranscodingIndex=null
2025-07-15 08:47:38.134 Info App: ProcessRun 'StreamTranscode fef6df' Execute: /bin/ffmpeg -loglevel +timing -y -print_graphs_file "/config/logs/ffmpeg-remux-fef6df5e-1f4c-4952-b318-4357f8554070_1graph.txt" -copyts -start_at_zero -f matroska,webm -ss 00:00:51.000 -noaccurate_seek -c:v:0 h264 -noautorotate -i "/mnt/Filmer/Package Tour (1980)/Package Tour (1980) [imdbid-tt0081590] - [Bluray-1080p][DTS 2.0][x264]-NAPTiME.mkv" -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -sn -c:v:0 copy -bsf:v:0 h264_mp4toannexb -c:a:0 aac -ab:a:0 192000 -ac:a:0 2 -metadata:s:a:0 language=swe -disposition:a:0 default -max_delay 5000000 -avoid_negative_ts disabled -f segment -map_metadata -1 -map_chapters -1 -segment_format mpegts -segment_list "/transcode/transcoding-temp/9EECB8/9EECB8.m3u8" -segment_list_type m3u8 -segment_time 00:00:03.000 -segment_time_delta -00:00:51.000 -segment_start_number 17 -break_non_keyframes 1 -individual_header_trailer 0 -write_header_trailer 0 -segment_write_temp 1 "/transcode/transcoding-temp/9EECB8/9EECB8_%d.ts"

if I stop the video and start it again, the same stutter is there and I need to fix the playback issue again.

server: Version 4.9.1.7 beta

Android app: 3.4.74

Apparently it was the setting under Audio "convert audio to dolby digital" seems to have fixed it.

Did you toggle on or off this setting?  And you are talking about the Shield OS, right?
