Direct play of m3u streams means I can't seem to delayed watching? How to enable seeking on a live tv stream?

Use case: watching CNN or a news show and not wanting to sit thru commercials so I want to pause at the beginning of the broadcast for awhile, and then watch it on a delayed recording

watching on latest android version 3.4.74

PS: the 120 second limit before editing a post is a little ridiculous; if i forgot to add context to my post it sucks to have to wait a couple minutes.

I have transcoding turned on but there doesn't seem to be an option: "allow video stream copy" on this android version.  why not?   how do i watch outside of direct play with this version of android app?

Hi, in the Emby android app if you enable the playback option to force a conversion of mpegts, then that will produce a more seekable output.

So where specifically do I enable that within the 3.4.74 version of the android app?  Under playback there is the option of force conversion for formats, giving me avi/mpegts/av1/vc1  do I want that? or does the option exist somewhere else?

yes that's what you want.

Should i enable all of those options?  my ember server is a 2012 mac mini with a ssd and 16gb of ram; not well versed in video formats and what the best option or options is.  mpegts or all or ?

I assume just mpegts? anyway to avoid having to hit an extra OK press when playing back live tv content?  i have to hit ok to get to the show overview thing and then another ok to hit play

I would just do mpegts since that's all you need for this.
