jracerX 1 Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 (edited) Until recently my Emby setup had been rather stable. Past few days unable to watch an entire show without pauses, some clients wont connect past login page, and some sessions will show the media but fail to load. I suspect perhaps a network issue, but would appreciate help troubleshooting. Setup: Internet Connection: 1GB down/ 250Mb/s UP WIndows 11 NGINX proxy on a linux VM hosted through Hyper V on the same machine running Emby and internal HDD with the files. Intel ARC A580, Hardware Acceleration on. Happens with both direct play and transcoding. Happens on all files tested, even ones previously that had no issues. Occurs on multiple clients (LG Smart TV, Windows 11 OC, iPad, Android Phone) Console errors on the client show: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT TypeError: Failed to Fetch NGINX error log shows: 2025/07/08 04:47:24 [error] 714#714: *2018 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while connecting to upstream, client: XX.XXX.XXX.XXX, server: emby.XXXXXXXX.ca, request: "POST /emby/Sessions/Playing/Progress?X-Emby-Client=Emby+Web&X-Emby-Device-Name=Google+Chrome+Windows&X-Emby-Device-Id=24c2b862-3f41-4992-a520-22a38233dc8a&X-Emby-Client-Version=4.8.11.0&X-Emby-Token=b43af877bdad4d1899bc700c9d9dbf5a&X-Emby-Language=en-us&reqformat=json HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://192.168.0.3:8096/emby/Sessions/Playing/Progress?X-Emby-Client=Emby+Web&X-Emby-Device-Name=Google+Chrome+Windows&X-Emby-Device-Id=24c2b862-3f41-4992-a520-22a38233dc8a&X-Emby-Client-Version=4.8.11.0&X-Emby-Token=b43af877bdad4d1899bc700c9d9dbf5a&X-Emby-Language=en-us&reqformat=json", host: "emby.XXXXXXXX.ca" Everything worked fine on Saturday with multiple clients (1 LAN, 2 WAN) watching media without issue. Then suddenly later than night all clients except LAN had issues. As of today still issues, either unable to connect beyond login page, unable to load media after login, or show starts - but then stops after random time, and may start again soon, or not until going back 10seconds. Happens using domain name, or server IP, happens over HTTPs and HTTP. embyserver.txt Edited July 8, 2025 by jracerX

jracerX 1 Posted July 10, 2025 Author Posted July 10, 2025 No change using Jellyfin. Next I changed my DNS from my hosting provider to CloudFlare and despite that not showing and DDOS attacks or significant trafic, everything has been stable for the past 24 hours. 1
