AL_Hifi 1 Posted July 6, 2025 Posted July 6, 2025 Hello all, I use the Emby app version 3.4.74 on 2 Android tablets to watch concerts. The video files naturally have chapters so that you can select the desired title directly. Now I don't know when the behavior “crept in”. I press "Chapters" below the timeline, the individual chapters are displayed, I can move them sideways briefly if necessary, but before I can select one, the bar is already hidden again, is that correct? A sensible selection is not possible! When testing on my cell phone, I can't select any chapters at all because an option for this is not even displayed, has this always been the case? I can slide over the timeline and search, but that's not really satisfactory. Am I too stupid to use the app or ...? ? best regards AL Hifi 1

Chapters, Cast & Crew disappears too quickly even when you are actively scrolling left to right. 1

Turn the device sideways to view in landscape and you'll see those sections appear below the timeline.

Could you please explain or show me where I can choose the chapters, see screenshot in landscape and portrait.

Here I have to take a quick look at my head, I'm not quite that stupid. Of course the videos have chapters, I press the progress bar at the bottom with my finger and the titles of the individual chapters are displayed, but I can't jump to them directly.
Luke 42077 Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 @AL_Hifiwhat device is this? Is that the Emby Android app or the web app?
AL_Hifi 1 Posted July 28, 2025 Author Posted July 28, 2025 @Luke Apologies again for the long response time. It's a 6-year-old Huawei P30, a smartphone. However, I now find the disappearance or hiding of the chapter display in the Emby app on a Galaxy Tab much worse. Scenario: You're sitting with friends, a concert is playing in the background via a Bluetooth speaker, someone asks, ‘Is the XYZ track on there too?’ and, in the best case scenario, you can see the desired song by clicking on the chapters. If it's among the next three, you scroll, and then the whole thing disappears again, which is so annoying...
Monochrome 0 Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 (edited) The same for me for Audiobook. The WebApp on the devices is showing a chapters text button on the left, but the Android app is not. I'm a chapter skipper and constantly skip chapters and not having the option to select chapters would be bad. Maybe a Library detection problem? I see chapter names when I seek, but can't see a place to select by chapter. Also the Audiobook for seem reason seems to be detected as `End Credits`. Maybe that is the reason? It's an .m4b Audiobook btw. Edited July 29, 2025 by Monochrome
brothom 177 Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 (edited) +1 info, chapters, cast and next are only displayed in landscape mode, not in portrait mode (Samsung A56 5G). Looks like styling to me where these are hidden in narrow displays intentionally. Edited September 25, 2025 by brothom
