Onn 4k Pro - Back Button now opening side menu

Using the latest "Emby for Android" on my Onn 4k Pro, If I navigate into the movie library for instance, and click on a movie to view the info, when pressing the back button on my remote, instead of going back to the movie library, the side menu is coming up.

 

Any ideas?

It seems to be working fine again now, not sure what changed. the issues was occurring for 2 days though lol

This randomly happens to me as well.  I can usually select something in the menu and carry on.  Let often, the tray slides out and is completely blank.  I'm stuck in the video I was watching with no way out unless I reboot my device.  This is the main reason I keep going back to Emby for Android TV.

This is on my 55" Amazon Fire TV.

Also forgot to mention, sometimes when it happens - like it just did now - the only way out is to reboot my TV.  If I keep trying to backup of the app when it happens, it'll eventually lock up my TV and I have to pull the power to reboot.  I can't even exit the app when this happens.

Really, no way I can switch until this is fixed.  Nothing like this ever happens with the Emby for Android TV app, it might be a little old, but it is rock solid.

This is what happens.  Try to back button out and the tray slides out blank.  It only happens when video is present.  If the video finishes (and there isn't another "next up") it returns to normal.  Something if you try the back button many times in a row it'll not only lock Emby but the whole device as I noted earlier.

Hi @majorslwhat version of the Android app are you currently running?

There was previously a whole thread about this issue, and it was resolved in a semi-recent app update.

There have been many updates since this version, the Play Store is quite a bit behind.

Thanks gents, looks like the Amazon Store one is newer than what I have.  Since it's a FireTV, I'll give that a shot first.  If not, I'll side load.
