agmarkis 0 Posted June 30, 2025 Posted June 30, 2025 Hi, Been using emby for a while on multiple platforms, but for some reason starting around the end of last year, I noticed that I was essentially unable to play any video files that have the "constrained baseline" profile. I couldn't figure out at first why some files would playback at less than 1 FPS, but eventually narrowed it down to every file that has that "constrained baseline" profile will take longer to load, and then ultimately stutter at very very low framerate. I also checked the FAQ to see if it is a no longer supported profile, but I don't think it applies to that list, which seems to suggest avoiding high quality playback. On my other devices I use Emby on do not have any issues with playback of those files. I am not using a GPU currently for acceleration, but I have no issues playing higher bitrate and other profiles like 'Main' or 'High', etc. I like to use the xbox's I have as entertainment boxes, but this issue along with the interface not accessible on first load (needing app restart) have been real issues this year. Thanks for any info anyone may have on this problem.

Ultimately, if there is an issue with playback in that format, I can probably figure out how to use ffmpeg to convert the video to a format that will work. Edited June 30, 2025 by agmarkis
