Newly added movies cannot be scanned

Newly added movies are not scanned, but the system is stuck at 98% for hours, what is causing this problem? How can I fix it?

I just added a TV show with 3 seasons, each with 6 seasons. It used to take only a few minutes to scan, but now I'm stuck here for 3 hours.
