Dizzy49 99 Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 (edited) I have the Fire TV Cube (Lates model as of Jan 2025). It sits on the floor, 4' from the TV and 3' from the sound bar. It is connected via Ethernet cable, and Speed Test on it returns 91.4Mbps. The part is part of the Cube, not a dongle. Funny enough, I tried WiFi for the hell of it and it returned 380.45Mbps. Why Amazon is using a 100Mbps port on their highest tier device when even WiFi is 3x+ faster is beyond me. I have a Nakamichi Soundwafe 9.2 soundbar. I have audio set to pass through since the soundbar can handle anything. The FireTV is plugged into the soundbar, and the soundbar into the TV. All using quality 8-10' 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 cables. Everything I watch slowly falls out of sync and gets worse the longer it goes. I can get it back into sync by backing out of the video and hitting Resume. But it will fall out of sync again within a few minutes. Pausing doesn't help. This happens with TV and Movies, and both 4K and 1080p content. I don't think it's a bandwidth issue as the highest content I've tried was 62Mbps (and the highest I own is 81Mbps). However, the vast majority of what I tried is 4-8Mbps (TV) and 20-30Mbps (Movie). I tried on both Ethernet and Wifi and had the same issue. The videos are Direct Playing both Audio and Video. Oddly enough, the reason I purchased this to begin with was because I had issues with higher bitrate movies lagging/stuttering on my LG TV using the Emby app (I think b/c it had to transcode everything since it wouldn't pass the audio through). This is arguably worse since it affects everything I watch and not just high bitrate. server.snippet.txt Edited June 28, 2025 by Dizzy49 Ethernet Clarification and WiFi Speed
