Using Emby Windows with Server 4.8 and HTPC

I have been using Emby Theater-Premiere-Server for a decade on my old school home theater PC. Last night I deleted my Windows profile and on reinstall realized the new Emby Windows is only client available.

My Server library is fine, and on opening Emby Windows I select my media server and login. But all I see is an empty "HOME/FAVORITES screen. I don't see anything from my film Library.

This has probably been answered dozens of times but I'm stumped. How do I display the contents of my large film library?

Hi there, does the Emby web look normal?

Whats the Emby web? I'm used to a scrolling screen displaying images of all my films stored locally. Is that functionality missing on the new client?

The web interface that you first used to setup your server. Are you able to access that?

Yes, I can access the dashboard at localhost:8096/web/index.html#!/dashboard.

And how does the content look there?

And when you click home in the upper left, what content do you see?

This what I get for HOME. Is there a setting somewhere that's not pointing to my Library?

It's possible your Emby user is not granted access to the libraries. can you go to the manage users section, then in the access tab, please review what you see there.

Users

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

I think I figured it out. I went into Windows as admin, and uninstalled Server/All Traces. I had reinstalled it yesterday but there must have been an out of sync fragment somewhere. Emby Windows shows my movies now and the db is rebuilding at 91%.

In the past I've found my issues were almost always fixed by a clean reinstall. Maybe one of these days I'll remember that.
