no direct play for ac3. transcode/silent

hi. i'm using emby on local lan only. no bandwith issues whatsoever.

on some ac3 audio files emby is transcoding instead of "direct play". when i disable trnascoding for this user - the movie is sielnt.

i'm using the webapp for the client (windows machine).

 

how can i watch ac3 with "direct play" without transcoding?

Most web browsers don't support AC3, in my experience it was working with Chromium but I've also seen it not work with Chromium. Your best bet is to use the desktop app for direct play.

P.S. Audio transcoding is a very lightweight operation.

fopr some reason it's causing the audio not sync.

 

completely noob question here - which desktop app is for windows?
