Link01 0 Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 I tried to upgrade my emby-server from 4.8.10.0_2 to 4.8.11.0_1 using the FreeBSD packages available in the quarterly repo. With that upgrade my dotnet got upgraded from 9.0.0_2 to 9.0.4. Once I started the emby-server service I was unable to access the web interface anymore and nothing of use in the logs. Rolled back emby-server to 4.8.10.0_2 and still was not able to access the web insterface. My next step was to downgrade dotnet from 9.0.4 to 9.0.0_2 and that solved the issue. Not sure if anyone else has encountered this. I'm on FreeBSD 14.3-RELEASE and as I mentioned am using the quarterly packages.
Luke 42077 Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 HI, that's interesting. That shouldn't matter because Emby Server embeds it's own copy of the dotnet runtime. If I had to guess, most likely the dotnet upgrade updated another dependency, and that may have caused an issue. Thanks for reporting.
Link01 0 Posted June 26, 2025 Author Posted June 26, 2025 I understand what you are saying, however, the emby-server package lists dotnet as a dependency. https://www.freshports.org/multimedia/emby-server/ Runtime dependencies: dotnet>0 : lang/dotnet
Luke 42077 Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 OK I think I forgot that we don't embed it for freebsd ports. please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
