Emby Backup - Relative backup path is not supported. Please configure a full path.

I have Emby installed on my UnRaid and working well.

But the backup plugin will not write to attached USB drive so I am trying a network path. I can get to it in Windows with no issue. I have access to the folder with no issues.

But on Emby I get the following error message, "Relative backup path is not supported. Please configure a full path." (I can browse to the path within the backup app).

\\192.168.xx.xx\Cloud_Storage\UnRaid\Emby

But when I go to save it, that is when the error message pops up.

It is mounted on the UnRaid server as well so there should be no issue.

*** Figured it out. I had to add "another" path to the Emby docker configuration and it worked perfectly.

I am back to the drawing board. Even with adding the path and verifying the MyCloud is shared, I get the following:

Running time: 0 seconds Access to the path '/mnt/remotes/WDMYCLOUD_Cloud_Storage/UnRaid/embyserver-backup-full' is denied. at System.IO.FileSystem.CreateDirectory(String fullPath, UnixFileMode unixCreateMode) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path) at Emby.Server.Implementations.IO.ManagedFileSystem.CreateDirectory(String path) at MBBackup.ServerEntryPoint.ExecuteBackupInternal(PluginConfiguration configuration, CancellationToken cancellationToken, IProgress`1 progress) at MBBackup.ServerEntryPoint.ExecuteBackup(PluginConfiguration configuration, CancellationToken cancellationToken, IProgress`1 progress) at Emby.Server.Implementations.ScheduledTasks.ScheduledTaskWorker.ExecuteInternal(TaskOptions options)

One thing that might help to understand. Backup folder offers network. But when you give full smb path that is when it says relative path not supported.

What exactly does that mean. Kodi uses that type of path all the time.

So you're running the server on Docker? Did you setup the path in your docker config?

@EmbodimentIt looks like you forgot to add the container path.

And since its a remote path, set the Access Mode to RW - Slave.

Kudos! You were exactly correct. Working now. Mega thanks. Curious, what does this "Access Mode to RW - Slave" do differently than read write. What does the - Slave option do?

It should let Emby know its offline if it can't access it.

Useful if you have media on a another nas, or you backup set to remote.
