New version broke "Remember Last User" for local users

Hi,

I noticed that the Emby client was updated to version 2.1.23g. Now, if I select "Remember Last User" for "Start Up Behaviour" setting, the Emby client tries to connect to Emby Connect instead of using the local users. The possibility to have local users and totally local instance of my media server was the most important reason when I changed from Plex to Emby.

So, can you fix this back as it was or was this change in behavior made on purpose? Thank you.

v2.1.23 has been out for quite some time (December '24):

so not really sure why do you feel/why it appears like it is a recent update?

Could you provide a specific example?

Hmm, I am 90% sure that the version was 2.1.17g earlier and figured the reason to be that the application version was different now.

Finally, I managed to fix the issue by clearing the all the app data (Nvidia Shield) and re-configuring the Emby app. So, now it works as it should. I do not know what caused the issue. Anyway, thank you for the reply!

I have a similar issue except it is on a Surface Pro 11th addition. When starting the app it always uses my older server and I have to use the change server to connect to the new server. After I close out the session and exit and start again, the old server is again the one that appears with the user logins and again I have to use the change server.

It seems like the login screen does not remember the changed server. Also I can't delete the old server. After pressing delete server and it asks "Are you sure you want to delete" and I press delete, the pop up box closes but the server has not been deleted.

Any help will be appreciated and also where should I post this request.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Sorry but the App that I installed was from the Windows store as the Surface Pro 11 is an Arm processor Win 11 2 in 1 tablet. So I don't think it will install but the same happens on the latest win 11 installation on an Intel NUC. What puzzles me is why I can't delete the server when trying to log in. Also are there any considerations where to delete any cache entries for the Emby theater app.

Thanks for doing this. I expected that when I am logged into the server, there are 3 horizontal dots and when clicking on them you have the option to delete the server. When doing this you get the warning dialogue box that says "Are you sure?" When clicking OK the dialogue box goes away but the server stays. So then I click on change server and it does change to the server that I selected now but it will not remember it. Next time I log in again same old server previous server and I have to change  the server again.

When I tried this on the Roku or on Android it behaves properly deleting the server deletes it and now you only have the choice of adding a new server and then that one stays. However on Win 11 it does not behave in the same manner.

Hope this feedback helps.
