Jägs 85 Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 I have one series—War and Remembrance—that refuses to show up either in shows or under folders. I've tried changing the naming scheme, "touch"ing the files, etc., but nothing seems to work. For references, here are the permissions of the series and adjacent ones: drwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 414 May 26 21:23 'Wandavision (2021)' drwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 744 Jun 21 15:02 'War and Remembrance (1988)' drwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 128 Mar 23 2023 'War of 1812 (1999)' drwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 1308 Jun 21 15:00 'War of the Worlds (1988)' And here are the files: -rwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 6440419376 Jun 21 20:12 war-remembrance.s01.e01.mkv -rwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 6698001592 Jun 21 20:12 war-remembrance.s01.e02.mkv -rwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 4392308157 Jun 21 20:12 war-remembrance.s01.e03.mkv ... compared to WandaVision, which is working fine: -rwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 9879639431 May 26 15:06 wandavision.s01.e01.mkv -rwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 16516560592 May 26 15:15 wandavision.s01.e02.mkv -rwxrwxr-x 1 user admin 15108643627 May 26 15:27 wandavision.s01.e03.mkv ... I've attached the log, but based on my rudimentary understanding of what is going on, it looks like it is pulling episode info: 2025-06-21 20:30:01.784 Info MediaProbeManager: ProcessRun 'ffprobe' Execute: /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -i file:"/volume4/TV/shows/War and Remembrance (1988)/war-and-remembrance.s01.e12.mkv" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_chapters -show_format -show_data 2025-06-21 20:30:01.797 Info MediaProbeManager: ProcessRun 'ffprobe' Process exited with code 0 - Succeeded 2025-06-21 20:30:01.798 Info HttpClient: GET https://api4.thetvdb.com/v4/episodes/203419/extended?meta=translations 2025-06-21 20:30:01.902 Info HttpClient: Http response 200 from https://api4.thetvdb.com/v4/episodes/203419/extended?meta=translations after 104ms When I look up that episode on TVDB, it looks like it is grouping it with War of the Worlds (1988)—this is why I included it in the listing above: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/war-of-the-worlds/episodes/203419 When I look in Emby itself, it's just not listed at all: When I go into War of the Worlds to see if they are in that series, I can't find a way to see the different files in order to identify them. Any suggestions on how to fix this? embyserver.txt
Solution GrimReaper 4740 Posted June 22, 2025 Solution Posted June 22, 2025 (edited) You can approach that in two ways: 1) - Remove War and Rememberance series folder from your TV shows root - Run Scan media library task to clear the db - Remove existing NFOs (if any) from War and Remembrance series folder - Rename series folder to War and Remembrance (1988) [tvdbid=84070] - Move it back to your TV shows root - Scan media library https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html#id-tags-in-folder--file-names or 2) (has library-wide implication) - Disable "Automatically merge series spread accross multiple folders" library option - Run Scan media library task - You'll have two instances of War of the Worlds (1988) now, re-Identify incorrect one Edited June 22, 2025 by GrimReaper
Jägs 85 Posted June 22, 2025 Author Posted June 22, 2025 Thanks for the response! Regarding the second option, if I have seasons in separate folders underneath the series’ folder, will this impact how they appear if this option is disabled? If not, I don’t keep series in more than one folder so this seems like an easier fix.

Jägs 85 Posted June 22, 2025 Author Posted June 22, 2025 Thanks, that worked exactly as you described! 1
