Checkoutside 17 Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 Windows server latest stable version. Android\tv and android(crappy) clients. Recently, I moved my photos to a different drive. There are lots of photos dating back a few years. I copied the folder to the new drive\folder and then pointed Emby to the new drive\folder, removing the old drive\folder. After scanning and refreshing the photos do not show correctly in the "Latest " line on the home page. The photos do show if I go to the photos section. I noticed this after adding some newer photos and noticing that only 1 of the new pictures shows in that line, the rest are old photos. I looked in Windows at the date of the photos and they are correct and the server is set to "use file creation date" Any thoughts?
Luke 42077 Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 Hi there, check the date added value in the metadata editor for the relevant photos. This is what’s determining latest order. that value comes from the date taken metadata inside the photo if present, otherwise it comes from the date created timestamp of the filefrom.
Checkoutside 17 Posted June 19, 2025 Author Posted June 19, 2025 Ok, that was helpful. Once I looked into it I discovered that those older files had no exif info, so the "created" time became the time it was written to the disk. The newer photos will fill in when there is enough time difference so they will show newer than those. Thanks! 1
